Applications for admission are accepted in fall, spring, and summer.The application and instructions for admission to UNC Charlotte as a graduate student are available from the Graduate Admissions website.
In addition to the general requirements for admission to the Graduate School, the following are required for graduate study in Economics:
1) Undergraduate coursework that includes: Calculus, Econometrics (or equivalent), Intermediate Macroeconomic Theory, Intermediate Microeconomic Theory (students missing some of the courses can be admitted conditionally).
2) A satisfactory score on the quantitative portion of the Graduate Record Examination. The Graduate Management Aptitude Test may be substituted for the GRE with the permission of the program coordinator.
Early Entry Program
Undergraduate students at UNC Charlotte with outstanding academic performance may be admitted to the Early Entry Program to pursue the M.S. in Economics while completing the undergraduate Economics degree requirements. Early Entry students may request that credit from four graduate economics (ECON) courses be applied to both their graduate and undergraduate programs (double-counting). Financial Assistance & Graduate Assistantships
